The Parks and Recreation Master Plan was developed by
the City of Midland’s Parks and Recreation Commission with assistance from the
Parks & Recreation staff and consultant PMBlough, Inc. The plan evaluates existing recreation
opportunities, reviews public opinion regarding parks and recreation, and
offers a five-year action plan for implementing proposed park improvements and
new initiatives. The plan is also a requirement of the Michigan
Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) in order for the City to be eligible to
apply for MDNR park and recreation grant funding programs.
