  • Author Alerts -  Sign up to get notified when the library orders new titles by your favorite authors or performers!
  • Book Club in a Bag - The library offers a quick and easy way to hold a book discussion group: Book Club in a Bag. Each kit contains ten copies of a popular book and information about the author and book, including some discussion questions, all packaged into a sturdy zipper bag for you to carry.
  • Book Express List - List of current books in our Book Express collection of best-selling titles.
  • BookLetters - Sign-up with your email to receive newsletters featuring programs and new items at the library. Newsletters include The Library Connection, new DVD's, audiobooks, upcoming book discussions, staff picks and more.
  • Book Lists by Subject - Browse the many lists compiled by librarians for the eBook, fiction and nonfiction collections.
  • Books and Bites: Book Discussion - List of books discussed or due for discussion by the Books and Bites book discussion. Join us on the third Thursday of the month from 7-8 pm in Conference Room A.
  • Books Coming Soon - Want to see what new titles are due out in the coming months? Discover which authors will be releasing their new books. The titles have a link into the Library Catalog that will allow you to place a hold.
  • Email Book Clubs - Join our Email Book Clubs and every weekday morning, we'll email you a portion of a book that takes about five minutes to read. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
  • New in the Catalog - Wondering what new books the library will be getting? See a complete list of items ordered this week. Many of these items can be reserved by clicking on the title. The library will notify you when items are here and available for checkout.
  • Literature Resource Center - Information on novelists, poets, essayists, journalists, and other writers. *
  • Novelist - Explore fiction with this powerful database. Search by author, title, subject, series, genre, plot and more. Browse book lists, author read-a-likes, and book awards. Includes book discussion guides. *
  • Novelist K-8 Plus - Find great fiction and nonfiction titles for children or teens. Search for items similar to your favorite book and browse for new reads using the many book lists.  Tutorials - short videos on specific topics.* 
  • Something About The Author - Provides essays on the lives and works of authors and illustrators of books for children and young adults. *

  • Book Crossing - The practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise.
  • FictionL Booklists - Fiction L is an electronic mailing list devoted to reader's advisory topics. Here is a list of  their many booklists.
  • LibraryThing - List your books and connect to other readers. Also includes reviews, book discussions, and ways to obtain a title.
  • Library Booklists - Guide to many online booklists on a wide variety of subjects.
  • Movies Based on the Book - Find the name of the book that a movie is based on. You can search by year, movie or book title.
  • Reading Group Choices - Reading Group Choices selects discussable books and develops resources to enhance book club experiences.
  • Stop You're Killing Me - "A website to die for... if you love Mysteries." View authors and series information as well as character job list, awards and read alikes.
  • What's Next - Kent District Library's resource will tell you the order of books in a series. Search by author, title or series.
