The purpose of the Friends of MCTV is to raise money and support for community access television in Midland. The Friends were formed in 2006 when MCTV was facing a projected financial deficit. The Friends gave a grant of $25,000 in 2013 for the purchase of field cameras.

"Community Focus" is a 30-minute program produced by the Friends of MCTV. It is cablecast on MCTV 191 on Charter Communications and through Channel 99-Community Voices-on AT&T's U-verse. The show's purpose is to provide an opportunity for local non-profits, service clubs, and other organizations to promote upcoming events or ongoing services. Each program contains four separate segments of approximately six minutes in length. Interviews are videotaped in MCTV's studio on the lower level of the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library at 1710 W. St. Andrews Road in Midland. If selected to appear on the program, applicants will be invited to a 30-minute "pre-interview" one week prior to the scheduled taping. Most taping sessions will be scheduled the last week of each month in the late afternoon. Applicants will be contacted by the show's producers. COMMUNITY FOCUS APPLICATION
